SPUR GEAR

Steps for designing spur gear:

a) Enter power transmitted by gears (KW), reduction ratio, rotation speed of pinion and assumed number of teeth of pinion in input display boxes.

b) Enter Young's modulus of pinion and gear material in N/mm^2.

c) Enter design compressive stress and bending stress of gear and pinion.

d) Module will be calculated based on above data.

e) Referring to calculated module enter next standard module from the table below between 1 to 20.

f) Results will be generated as per selected standard module. If the design fails, increase module or select different material for higher design stress.
