Steps for designing Helical gear:

a) Enter power transmitted by gears (KW), reduction ratio, Helix angle (8° - 25°), rotation speed of pinion and assumed number of teeth of pinion in input display boxes.

b) Enter Young's modulus of pinion and gear material in N/mm^2.

c) Enter design compressive stress and bending stress of gear and pinion.

For example:


d) Module will be calculated based on above data.

e) Referring to calculated module enter next standard module from the table below between 1 to 20.


f) Results will be generated as per selected standard module. If the design fails, increase module or select different material for higher design stress.
