SPRING

Steps for designing Helical spring:

a) Enter wire diameter, Outer diameter and free length of spring in MM.

b) Select type of spring end.

c) Enter total load on spring (Newton) and number of active coil. 

d) Enter modulus of rigidity and permissible tensile stress of selected material in N/mm2. Shear stress is calculated based on permissible tensile stress. For designing it is considered 0.6 times permissible tensile stress.

e) Result will be generated as per entered specification of spring.

 

Steps for designing Torsional spring:

a) Enter total load acting on spring (Newton).

b) Enter wire diameter, Outer diameter in mm and number of coil of spring.

c) Enter the distance of load acting from spring axis in mm. 

d) Enter Young's modulus and permissible bending stress of selected material in N/mm2. 

e) Result will be generated as per entered specification of spring.
