SPROCKET, CHAIN AND TIMING BELT

Steps for calculating timing belt length:

a) Enter velocity or reduction ratio of pulley.

b) Enter minimum number of teeth on smaller pulley.

c) Enter center distance between two pulley in mm.

e) Enter selected pitch of timing belt in mm.

f) Results will be generated based on above data.

Steps for selection of chain and sprocket:

a) Enter velocity or reduction ratio of sprocket.

b) Enter minimum number of teeth on smaller sprocket. Select minimum 17 teeth for low variation in speed.

c) Enter speed of smaller sprocket.

d) Enter center distance between two sprockets in mm.

e) Enter selected pitch of chain for first iteration in mm.

f) Enter breaking load of chain for selected pitch from standard chain catalog in Newton. For example, for 1/2 " chain it ranges from 9000 N to 15000 N. 

g) Results will be generated based on above data.
